She might not call it a miracle, but everyone else who has heard her story sure does!
Lyndee Pellettiere-Swapp fell into a coma and was found by her son, Steven. She was rushed to the hospital but remained in the coma for 12 days.
Lyndee’s husband kept whispering in her ear, “I need you to fight, I need you to fight,” but his words appeared to fall on deaf ears.
Doctors finally told Lyndee’s family that she would probably never wake up and they should take her off life support.
Heartbroken, her husband and children decided they would follow the doctors’ suggestion. Honoring her wishes, they planned to donate her organs to others who needed them.
Then something stunning happened. As they took her off life support and her family members each took turns saying their goodbyes, Lyndee spoke three words that left them all stunned – “I’m a fighter.”
Lyndee wasn’t ready to let go just yet, and she ended up making a full recovery. But what is perhaps most chilling about this story is that Lyndee remembers it all.
She remembers her husband begging her to fight, she remembers her niece reading to her, and she even remembers hearing their discussions about taking her off life support.
Her family is so thankful to have her back with them, and Lyndee hopes her story will inspire other families not to give up on their loved ones.
“Just because you are not conscious does not mean you cannot hear,” she said. “So you should talk to your loved ones if you are in that situation. They hear you.”
