Sophie had been living with multiple myeloma for several years now. She was used to the constant pain that came with the disease, but it never got easier to deal with. Every day was a challenge, but she tried her best to keep a positive attitude.
One day, Sophie went to the post office to pick up a package. As she parked her car, she noticed something yellow on her windshield. She couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw that it was a note claiming that she was not disabled. Her heart sank as she read the cruel words, feeling like she was being attacked for something that was out of her control.
Sophie had a handicap placard, but that didn’t seem to matter to the person who left the note. She was furious that someone could be so insensitive and judgmental, especially towards someone who was struggling with a serious illness.
