Retail giant Walmart found itself in serious hot water after shoppers and the media happened upon a section on its website that sent quite a few people through the roof.
Apparently, they have either the worst web developers on the planet or whoever manages the site is an idiot, since someone approved the name “Fat Girl Costumes” for a section for plus-sized women’s Halloween attire, according to WGHP-TV.
The blog Jezebel originally posted screen shots from the retailer’s site, which show the extremely offensive name for the section. However, amid harsh backlash, Walmart has wisely renamed the page “Women’s Plus-Sized Halloween Costumes.” Good call, Walmart.
Twitter users still let Walmart have it, as the section kept the name for nearly a week before changing it to the more appropriate name it has now.
