While she was on an airplane, Wendi Williams was ready to relax. She reclined her seat back after she was allowed to do so and prepared herself for a calm, peaceful flight. Unfortunately, Williams was seated in front of a man who was unwilling to give her the space she needed to recline her seat on the flight from New Orleans to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Williams was more than happy to accommodate the man while he ate a meal. When he finished his food about ten minutes later, Williams started to recline her airplane seat again. That’s when things took a turn for the worst, and the male passenger got difficult. Difficult is putting it nicely.
The man reacted to the reclined seat with anger. He was apparently so frustrated that Williams reclined her seat that he started poking at it, punching it, and prodding at the seat to make it as uncomfortable for Williams as possible. The man succeeded in making her trip a pain in the rear.
Williams was out of options, so she decided to film the man’s reaction to get him to stop. Instead of the camera putting the man off from his immature reaction, he kept it up. Now, footage of the unnamed man has been shared on the internet where it quickly went viral across social media. Users sympathized with Williams since she was prevented from relaxing on the flight after her teacher’s conference.
Inside Edition published the following info about their news report: “A woman whose airplane sat was turned into a punching bag mid-flight is speaking out. It happened on a flight from New Orleans to Charlotte, North Carolina. Wendi Williams reclined her seat shortly after takeoff and moved it back to the upright position after the male passenger behind her asked her to do so while he ate. After he was done with his meal, she reclined her seat again. She said that’s when he started pounding her seat with his fists. Williams caught the whole encounter on camera.”
Viewers were stunned that the man was so unyielding. The following were some of the more than 8,000 comments shared by viewers of the Inside Edition video.
“Technically, it’s the stupid airlines’ fault for creating sardine cans in the sky. This is a never-ending story of madness.”
