The doctor told her that her baby daughter was stillborn. Fifty years later she gets…

Imagine living 50 years without knowing that the daughter you had never seen was alive. That is what happened to Thelma Tipton, a victim of a human trafficking in small town America. She was lied to by Dr. Thomas Jugarthy Hicks, a doctor in McCaysville, Georgia who illegally sold over 200 babies between 1950 and 1965.

He had told Thelma that her baby was stillborn. A full half century later, that baby tracked her down. Here is their incredible story

One can only imagine how both Kriste and Thelma felt in that moment of reunion. They surely have an entire lifetime worth of memories to catch up on. But when you see the moment where they have their first dinner together, all seems right in the world.

Family is still family, no matter how long circumstance keeps you apart. Something to reflect on and celebrate as we gather together today in Thanksgiving.
