According to the court documents, the 43-year-old man, later identified as Curis, was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole.
The defendant received an additional 404 to 532 months for the remaining charges. Prosecutors said Curis and his girlfriend, Nikia, killed Curis’ parents, Ruby and Curtis, and forced Curis’ 11-year-old niece to watch before they kidnapped the child for ransom.
Prosecutors said that Nikia was sentenced to 45-56 years behind bars. She was also ordered to serve a concurrent sentence of 80 to 108 months for robbery. Read the full story here ▶
