Former bus driver Shane Piche acknowledged raping a 14-year-old. He won’t, however, be spending any time behind bars for his crime. For third-degree rape, he will serve a 10-year probationary period.
Rape can result in a range of penalties. Prison sentences can range from one year to life.
The state in which one resides will determine this. Additionally, it will be based on the sentence guidelines.
