Prosecutors said the defendant, Ureka, was sentenced to life in a state correctional facility without the possibility of parole for throwing her two young children, 5-year-old and 10-month-old, off a bridge.
The 10-month-old boy, Joshua, died and her 5-year-old son, Elijah, was severely injured. The 34-year-old mother was found guilty of murder and attempted murder.
District Judge Donald also ordered the mother to serve a sentence of 50 years for the attempted murder charge, with the sentences to be served simultaneously. Read the full story here ▶
