According to the court documents, the defendant, 37-year-old Jessica, was sentenced to 47 years in prison last year. On November 8, 2023, the mother reportedly appealed her prison sentence, court records say.
Prosecutors said the 37-year-old mother was convicted of depraved indifference murder for killing her 3-year-old son Maddex. The DA’s office said the mother reportedly rejected her child for resembling his father and at one point threw him out of a bathroom.
