When nursing students graduate, they have a pinning ceremony.
The ceremony is a big deal. Rasmussen College Mankato campus in Minnesota had their pinning ceremony, and about 35 students were recovering their pins.
The graduates all select a special person to present them with their pins.
Penny Pearson, 50, was one of the graduates. Penny’s son, Dustin, is a Sergeant in the U.S. Army.
He had spent the past year overseas in Kuwait and wouldn’t be able to attend the ceremony – or would he?
Penny had chosen her husband to present her with her pin – but that isn’t what happened.
The clip below is rather emotional.
Watch as Penny is called up to get her pin.
