Tobi’s mom bought 2 goldfish from Walmart two years ago and decided to put them in their garden pond to surprise her husband. She knew her husband was keen on goldfish so she was excited to see his reaction.
Little did she know what was to come…
She picked out two small beautiful goldfish for her husband, one coloured gold and white while the other was coloured black and gold.
She quickly transported the fish back home in little bags and placed them directly in the pond…
But in the haste of transporting the goldfish back and also handling and packing away all her groceries, she somehow completely forgot about the fish!
Years later, her husband wanted to drain the pond for maintenance and that was when he found the two fish. They were alive and absolutely humongous!
It turns out goldfish can live for years in the right conditions. In fact, they can even grow to over a foot long! A goldfish’s growth can be stunted by poor water quality and small tanks. In the right environment, they have the potential to reach their full size.
We’re happy to report the two goldfishes are still happily swimming in the pond after it was cleaned!
