Missing 24-year-old Instagram star found dead inside own apartment as landlord finds suitcase with her legs sticking out

A popular Russian Instagram influencer was found dead with multiple stab wounds, stuffed in a suitcase in her own apartment in Moscow just days after she posted vacation photos from a recent trip to the Greek island of Corfu.

Family members of Ekaterina Karaglanova, 24, contacted her landlord after not hearing from her in several days. Her body was eventually discovered on Friday, Fox News reports. The landlord couldn’t believe his eyes after he opened the front door of Karaglanova’s apartment for her parents.

Shockingly, they found a large suitcase in the hallway with the 24-year-old’s legs sticking out.

According to reports, the influencer was found with several stab wounds on her cheek and chest areas as she lay lifeless wearing only lace garters.

Russian daily Moskovsky Komsomolets reported that the 24-year-old had lived in an apartment on Pyryena Street in Moscow for several years while attending medical school. She had recently graduated and started her personal travel blog.

Karaglanova shared a post on Instagram last month on the day she received her diploma.

“We did it! These 6 years have not been for us an easy walk, but a real race for survival with obstacles,” she wrote.

The news outlet learned from Russian law enforcement that they believed jealousy was a possible motive for the tragic killing after the popular influencer had recently gotten into a relationship with a “much older” man.

The outlet also reported that the 24-year-old was gearing up to celebrate her birthday on July 30 with her new boyfriend on a trip to the Netherlands.

There were no signs of struggle or a weapon discovered in the apartment, according to police.

Karaglanova wrote in her final post on July 22 how she liked to travel “often” and preferred not to spend more than three to five days at a particular destination.

“But the impressions of such short trips remain the brightest,” she added. “I remember in detail every trip, all beautiful places, funny stories.”

The 24-year-old was also known to frequently document her travels to Europe and the Middle East. She had a whopping 84,000 followers at the time of her death.

According to BBC, Karaglanova’s ex-boyfriend was caught on surveillance cameras arriving at the apartment and then leaving several hours later just a few days before she was reported missing.

Speaking to Moskovsky Komsomolets, Russian police said the ex-boyfriend may have killed her before fleeing to an undisclosed location in Europe.
