The non-binary student, Fabian, claimed being discriminated against after they were kicked out of a sorority. The student also said that they were a member of the Chi Omega sorority chapter until they received an email from the private school’s national headquarters stating that his membership was being revoked.
The email, which was obtained by the 19th News, stated: “The selection criteria in the policy on membership includes ‘females and individuals identifying as women,’ which, by the chapter’s own understanding and your indication throughout the process, it is clear you did not meet the criteria at the time of your joining.”
The young student shared his story on social media and then posted a nearly six-minute video to TikTok explaining his reaction, decrying the national membership as transphobic along with reinforcing what they decried as ‘dangerous stereotypes’ of what a sorority girl should be.
