When we become parents, we accept a responsibility we’ve never experienced or considered before.
Put simply, our lives cease to revolve around ourselves. Sure, we can still do many of the things we did before we were called ‘mom’ or ‘dad’, but welcoming a child into the world truly makes one realize – often for the first time – that oneself is perhaps not the center of the universe.
With that in mind, it’s not so strange at all that we love our babies so unconditionally. At times they can drive us crazy; make us question our sanity; leave us wondering how on earth we’ll ever survive until they’re old enough to take care of themselves. Read the full story here ▶
