People in Los Angeles love their guns. Maybe it’s because that’s where all the action movies and Hollywood blockbusters come out of or maybe because there is a lot of public safety issues. Whatever it is, people in Los Angeles love their guns, and now, with the COVID-19 pandemic threatening the lives of millions of baby boomers across America, gun sales in Los Angeles are up.
Either way, authorities eventually caught wind of Saenz’s ungodly supply for firearms. They busted down his doors and confiscated more than one thousand guns, which included a vast collection of firearms of all types, including rifles, shotguns, and handguns.
Saenz had amassed his large collection of weapons in his home in the Holmby Hills neighborhood, which is just north of UCLA. It’s a nice part of town.
The reason that the police raided the man’s home was simple. The Los Angeles Police Department had received a tip from a concerned citizen that Saenz was illegally manufacturing and selling weapons from his Los Angeles home. With that information, the police, along with ATF agents were able to obtain a search warrant. When they arrived at his home, it was easy for them to find the collection. With so many guns in his possession, the police did not really have to search too hard. There was no way Saenz was able to keep them all in hiding.
Police found weapons stacked everywhere in the man’s home. Several rooms were cluttered with firearms. Where most people have dust bunnies, Saenz had deadly weapons.
“I had never seen so many weapons in my career of 31 years,” LAPD Lt. Chris Ramirez told ABC7.com. “That’s such a big arsenal in residence like this, in this type of neighborhood. It’s astounding.”
Whatever he was, Saenz was a gun nut. Some of his firearms were collectible pieces that dated back to the Civil War.
“I would never, ever think anybody would be wanting to pack so much in this neighborhood. It scares the wits out of you,” Rabbi Chaim Mentz said. “What does my next-door neighbor have? What does your next-door neighbor have?”
What do you think about this man’s massive collection of firearms?
