95-year-old woman with dementia dies after being tasered by police at care home

A 95-year-old great-grandmother who had dementia has died in hospital a week after being tasered by police in Australia.

Clare Nowland fractured her skull after being tasered by a police officer and falling to the ground at a care home where she was receiving palliative care in Cooma, New South Wales.

Ms Nowland had approached Mr White while using a walking frame and carrying a steak knife in a nursing home, officials said on Wednesday. Read the full story here ▶
