What about those half-priced Broncos tickets now that the team has new ownership?

From uniforms to the location of the stadium, the Denver Broncos’ could eventually go through some big changes under the ownership of billionaire Rob Walton and his partners.

But as long as the franchise is playing at the taxpayer-funded stadium now dubbed Empower Field at Mile High, half-price tickets will be part of the deal for home games.

There is a provision in the stadium lease and management agreement that guarantees 2,000 half-price tickets are available for all home regular and preseason games.

Matt Sugar is the director of stadium affairs for the Metropolitan Football Stadium District, a division of the state government tasked with overseeing Empower Field. The new ownership group will still be held to that ticket discount agreement, according to Sugar.

“That provision will not change,” he said.

There are rules governing the limited supply of discount tickets each season. Those include each household only being allowed to buy four seats and the tickets being nontransferable.

As of Thursday afternoon, half-priced seats were sold out on the Ticketmaster website for all regular season games except for the Broncos’ week 18 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers. The date and time for that game is still to be determined. The cheapest seats started at $44 before fees.
