Bali was a host of the president of China and in his meeting with US President Joe Biden on Monday in Bali, Indonesia, which was their first face-to-face encounter since Biden took office, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the current state of China-US relations is not in the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples and is not what the international community expects.
According to Xinhua, during the conversation, which allegedly lasted three hours and twelve minutes, Xi reminded Biden that as the leaders of two powerful nations, they must find the proper path and elevate their relationship. Xi emphasized that the two nations should use history as a mirror and allow it to serve as a guide.
The two leaders believe that the meeting was in-depth, open, and productive. They have directed their teams to implement the key agreements reached by the two leaders and to take concrete steps to help China-US relations resume their upward trajectory. The two leaders also have agreed to maintain regular contact.
