If Bradley Beal, Zach LaVine and Kyle Lowry aren’t on the trade market, NBA title hopefuls could instead turn their attention to these lower-priced veterans.
As the NBA‘s March 25 trade approaches, NBA title hopefuls will be probing the market to see how best they can improve their rosters.
Every team will do their due diligence on stars such as Bradley Beal, Zach LaVine, Kyle Lowry or Nikola Vucevic, but there’s no guarantee that any of them will be on the move in the next month. Contenders may instead have to turn their attention down a few rungs in the talent pool.
Most of the league’s best teams don’t have a ton of financial flexibility, which will make it difficult to trade for a high-priced star. Targeting less costly veterans might not be as attention-grabbing, but just ask the Utah Jazz how their acquisition of Jordan Clarkson last year has been working out.
The following seven veterans — all of whom are on the wrong side of 30 — won’t single-handedly swing playoff matchups or the overall title race. But they could patch holes on needy contenders, which is the next best thing.
