NBA All-Star Game: Team LeBron and Team Durant rosters revealed

LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets chose their rosters for the 2021 NBA All-Star Game in a Thursday night draft.

The 2021 NBA All-Star Game is set to take place this Sunday, March 7. This past month, the captains of the respective All-Star teams were LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets. Shortly afterwards, the full rosters were revealed. The only thing remaining was the All-Star Game draft.

On Thursday night, James and Durant filled out their respective rosters. The starting lineup for Team LeBron will consist of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic and James himself. Meanwhile, Team Durant will start Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard, Joel Embiid, Bradley Beal and Jayson Tatum.

Durant picked his Nets teammates

It is important to note that Durant will not be participating in the NBA All-Star Game due to a hamstring strain. NBA rules state that a starter will be replaced by a player in the reserve pool of the same position in the same conference. Hence why Tatum is in the starting lineup. With Durant ruled out, Indiana Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis was placed in the reserves pool.

Durant, being the good teammate that he is, managed to select both Irving and James Harden in the All-Star draft. In fact, Durant selected Irving with his first pick! The Nets duo are the only teammates to be placed on the same roster this All-Star Game. Fans will get to see teammates duke it out, like Rudy Gobert vs. Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum vs. Jaylen Brown, Kawhi Leonard vs. Paul George and Chris Paul vs. Devin Booker!
