Tang Soo Do Master Robert Wallwho practiced with and worked alongside Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee in some of the greatest martial arts films of all time has died at the age of 82 … TMZ Sports has learned.
Wall was a ninth-grade Tang Soo Do black belt under Norris … recognized for bringing discipline to the West. The men practiced together for many years … and were business partners.
In addition to being a martial arts champion, he also played important roles on the big screen.
Robert appeared in 1972’s “Way of the Dragon” and 1973’s “Enter the Dragon” – both starring Lee, the best-known martial artist ever lived.
Wall and Lee went on a memorable and very real (albeit one-sided) fight in “Enter the Dragon.”
In fact, years after filming the battle scene, Bob revealed that Lee was actually breaking his ribs.
“Bob, I want to hit you, and I want to hit you hard,” Wall revealed Lee told him before filming.
The reason … Bruce – who knew Wallin 8 years before the film was filmed – wanted the fight to look as authentic as possible, so the two masters went at full speed.
Wall’s family sent us the following statement about Robert’s death.
“Bob was the best husband and father. The family was everything to him. He lived a significant life and there is a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. His life and heritage will live forever within us. He was our rock.”
Rest in peace.
