A Montana man was formally charged with the murders of his mother as well as the mother of his two children Thursday.
Logan Dallas Christopher, 25, is accused of killing Marisa Wahl, 25, and his mother Tiffanie Greenslade, 47, Tuesday. He also allegedly attempted to kill his 57-year-old father Noe Christopher.
Logan faces two counts of deliberate homicide, attempted deliberate homicide and five counts of criminal endangerment, according to the affidavit obtained by Oxygen.com. He also faces charges for the high-profile car chase that ensued.
At his appearance in Ravalli County Justice Court on Thursday, Judge Jennifer Ray denied a $1 million bond request put forth by Ravalli County Attorney Bill Fulbright.
“In 18 years, I haven’t read anything as horrendous, and honestly $1 million isn’t enough,” she said, according to KECI. “So bail will be set in the amount of $2 million.”
The deadly sequence of events began Tuesday morning when Logan’s parents talked with him about his alleged use of illegal substances, the affidavit states. Later that evening, an armed Logan allegedly got into a confrontation with his mother and Wahl in his fifth wheel trailer, which was about 150 feet from his parents’ house.
After being called to the trailer, Noe arrived and saw Greenslade telling Logan to “put the gun down,” authorities said.
Noe promptly took Logan’s 3-year-old daughter away from the scene and left her with his 14-year-old daughter. Both were instructed to stay inside, and Noe called 911 at 6:57 p.m.
By the time Noe got off the phone with emergency personnel, Greenslade was shot, according to the affidavit. Noe tried to enter the trailer, but Logan claimed his father was “manipulating” him and making him “look bad” — eventually shooting his father in the left forearm, police said.
Noe ran back to the house to get his own firearm in defense. As he ran toward the house, Logan continued to fire at him, according to the affidavit.
Logan fled the property before police arrived. Authorities found Noe with a significant arm wound and determined that Wahl and Greenslade were dead in the trailer. They also found Logan’s 11-month-old son unharmed but covered in blood near Wahl, according to the affidavit.
Shortly thereafter, Missoula County police officers pursued Logan in a car chase that exceeded 130 mph. After the car crashed through a residential fence, Logan emerged with a hand gun. When he saw multiple officers on the scene, he surrendered without resistance, police said.
Logan’s urine tested positive for cocaine and THC at the time of the crime, according to the affidavit.
Noe is currently recovering in a Missoula hospital. Friends and family have started several fundraising projects in order to help Noe and the children affected, the Ravalli Republic reported.
Logan’s next court appearance is set for April. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
