R. Thompson, 34-year-old, was arrested and charged after the police found the dead body of his girlfriend’s 7-year-old son. When police arrived on the scene, they found his hammer all in blood in the living room in apartment complex.
The incident took place early morning around 3 a.m. in West Virginia.
The boy’s body was found in the living room, lying on the ground next to couch with extreme trauma to the left side of his head. Next to the boy police found the hammer which was all covered with blood.
After being arrested, police asked him why he did it and he only said ‘I simply lost it’.
The boy’s mother was found sometime later in neighbors’ house. She was heavily bleeding when officers found her from apparent stab wounds to her face. She was transferred in hospital for treatment in critical condition.
During the investigation, police found a broken knife in the kitchen. The lab results should reveal if that was the knife that Thompson used to hurt his girlfriend.
According to the police reports, he was charged with two counts of domestic battery, malicious wounding, child abuse resulting in death, first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
Thompson is being held in jail pending his arraignment
