After A Drinks Woman Decides To Call Uber Home, Finds Note On Her Car In The Morning

She went out, drove to her destination, and ended up having too much to drink. It happens all the time, and sadly 10,000 drinking and driving deaths occur each year in the United States because of it.All these deaths could have been avoided had people done what this woman decided to do. Not get back into her car.Her name is Paula Grzelak-Schultz. Together her and her husband were out at Original Joe’s Restaurant & Bar in Sherwood Park, Alberta. The drinks were going down, the food was great, and they were indeed having a blast.

Then it was time to go. They could get in their car and drive home drunk, or they could get a designated driver. They indeed decided to just leave the car right there in the lot, and call an Uber to get them home. No way did they feel like it was worth it, just to have the car back at their home.

Paula indeed returned to get the car some days later. But there was a note on the windshield.

Here’s what the note said:

“Dear Original Joe’s Sherwood Park Guest,

Just wanted to thank you for leaving your car parked overnight. I’m not sure if you had consumed alcohol at our restaurant or not, but we wanted to thank you for not drinking and driving. Enclosed is voucher good for 1lb of our delicious chicken wings. Please accept this as a thank you for being responsible. Life is valuable, have a great weekend.

Jay McLean

Managing Partner”

What would appear to most to likely be a negative note and warning, regarding parking in their lot overnight, it actually turned out to be the opposite. The person thanked them for parking there.

It is a reason why some people end up driving drunk, as they fear their car will be towed or ticketed. This act is one that should be appreciated and applauded by other bar and restaurant owners. Acting in this manner as a business owner can actually save lives.

Share this wonderful note with friends and family, reminding everyone that it’s always better to get a cab or an Uber, rather than driving intoxicated.
